SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's swimming team was victorious Friday evening in a tri-meet, defeating California (Pa.), 115-79, and Fairmont State, 130-68, at Donald N. Miller Pool.
 
The Raiders won six individual events and one relay along with recording four Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying times.
 
Freshman Jazz Barry improved her time in the 100-yard breaststroke, winning the event with a time of 1:08.41. Senior Alyssa Tomb swam a 2:15.77 in the 200-yard IM, dropping three seconds from her previous season best and placing first.
 
Freshman Michelle Kubiak won the 100-yard freestyle, earning a PSAC cut with a time of 56.17 seconds. Junior Lauren Croll was the runner-up in the 50-yard freestyle, achieving a conference cut with a time of 25.80 seconds.
 
Junior Allie Keeling paced the pool in the 500-yard freestyle and 1,000-yard freestyle, winning both for the Raiders. Her times were 5:31.62 and 11:14.07.
 
The Raiders opened the meet strong, with the quartet of senior Marissa Bittner, Barry, sophomore Makennah Fickett and Croll winning the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:51.78. SU used depth in the 200-yard IM and 100-yard freestyle to pull away from the Vulcans and Falcons. Fickett was also the pacesetter in the 100-yard backstroke, swimming 1:02.78.
 
Shippensburg returns to action Friday, Nov. 3 at Clarion.
