SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's swimming team claimed a dual-meet victory Friday evening against Fairmont State, 101-91, at Donald N. Miller Pool.
 
The Raiders bookended the meet with two relay victories while picking up six individual event wins along the way. SU also achieved nine Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying times during the meet.
 
Freshman Mason Koeth picked up two victories, winning the 200-yard IM and 100-yard butterfly. Koeth posted PSAC cuts of 1:59.74 and 51.77 seconds respectively. Junior David Johnson paced the pool in the 1,000-yard freestyle, swimming a time of 10:24.17.
 
The Raiders picked up three conference cuts in the 50-yard freestyle, with senior Matthew Beard and juniors Nathan VanNatter and Zaidian Van Orden finishing with times of 22.12, 22.19, and 22.36 seconds respectively. Van Orden later picked up a win in the 100-yard freestyle, posting a PSAC cut in 49.20 seconds, and VanNatter won the 100-yard breaststroke by one one-hundredth of a second in 1:01.79.
 
Senior Michael Salvatori paced the teams in the 500-yard freestyle, swimming a 5:03.01. Salvatori also picked up a second-place finish in the 200-yard IM, swimming a PSAC cut of 2:00.72. Sophomore Kevin Noldy placed second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 56.27 seconds.
 
Shippensburg used the quartet of Noldy, VanNatter, Koeth, and freshman Robbie Ferlick to open the meet with a 200-yard medley relay win in a time of 1:37.53. The group of Ferlick, Van Orden, Cooper Mercer and Johnson closed the meet with the fastest time in the 200-yard freestyle relay, swimming 1:28.91.
 
Shippensburg returns to action Friday, Nov. 3 at Clarion.
