Shippensburg University junior
Tess Jedeloo was named the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II Offensive Player of the Week on Wednesday morning by the national office.
Â
It is her second award in as many days after being named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Field Hockey Athlete of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.
Â
Jedeloo scored five goals and recorded an assist last week as Shippensburg won at No. 3 Kutztown, 3-2, and then dispatched Slippery Rock, 7-1. In the victory at Kutztown, Jedeloo scored the game-winning goal; it was the lone goal of the second half.
Â
She then had a hand in five of SU's seven goals against Slippery Rock – assisting on the opening goal before scoring the second, fourth, fifth and sixth of the game. It marked her first-ever four-goal game and a single-game career high of nine points.
Â
Jedeloo's team-high 14 goals are tied for third in NCAA Division II.Â
Â
No. 1-ranked Shippensburg travels to face No. 2 East Stroudsburg at 2 p.m. today at Whitenight Field.
