Shippensburg University graduate student Dom Sleva wrapped up a strong week on the hardwood by being named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Men's Basketball Defensive Athlete of the Week Monday afternoon by the league office.

In three games, Sleva posted three straight double-doubles, averaging 18.7 points and 13.0 rebounds per contest.

Sleva shot 58.1 percent from the field over the course of his last three outings, helping the Raiders to a 2-1 record. He recorded at least 9 defensive rebounds in each contest and averaged 10.0 defensive rebounds per game during that stretch.

Sleva scored 22 points, his second highest point total of the season, in a 79-70 victory at Edinboro Jan. 7. Defensively, he recorded three steals and held Edinboro forward Kierell Green to just 8-of-23 shooting (35-percent), including a 1-of-10 night from three-point range.

In that game, he also became the 36th player in program history to reach the 1,000-point milestone.

The outstanding week catapulted him to the top of the NCAA Division II leaderboard in double-doubles with nine, and defensive rebounds per game (9.7).

This is the fourth time Sleva has won the league's Defensive Athlete of the Week award this season. He previously was recognized Nov. 21, Dec. 5 and Dec 20.
