Shippensburg University men's basketball alumnus Dustin Sleva recently reached a loan agreement to join Basketball Loewen Braunschweig in German basketball's top flight for the remainder of the 2022-23 season.
Sleva saw his first action for Braunschweig Saturday, posting 8 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal less than 48 hours after the loan agreement was reached.
He joins Braunschweig from French First Division and Eurocup side Paris. Sleva has spent four plus seasons in Paris, where he played a key role in the Parisians' promotion to the French First Division and European competition.
Sleva graduated from Shippensburg in 2018, where he is the program's all-time leading scorer (2,071 points) and rebounder (1,140 rebounds).
During his time as a Raider, Sleva's success on the hardwood helped lay the foundation for SU men's basketball's current run of six straight 20-win seasons and established the Raiders as a perennial PSAC contender. He helped the Raiders ascend from a 13-win team during his freshman season to campaigns of 27 and 25-wins in his final two years, including a PSAC title-winning season in 2016-17.
