The Shippensburg University wrestling team saw its injury woes pile up during a 1-3 day at the Manganaro Duals Saturday hosted by Ursinus College.
 
The Raiders (5-4) opened the day with a 24-23 victory over Johnson & Wales before dropping three straight duals to the likes of the Coast Guard Academy, 52-0, Southern Maine, 26-24, and Rhode Island College, 30-23.
 
Shippensburg began the day missing three of its 10 starters, and by the final meet the number of regular starters sidelined had ballooned to six.
 
The highlight of the day came in the opener, as the Raiders erased a 23-3 deficit by winning five straight matches, getting pins from freshman Kyler Everly and freshman Trey Shoemaker, and decisions from redshirt sophomore Nyiem Flucas, freshman Owen Koch and redshirt junior Danny Scheib.
 
Flucas, Koch and Shoemaker finished competition Saturday with three wins. All of Shoemaker's victories came via pin.
 
The results of the Manganaro Duals put Shippensburg wrestling head coach Seth Bloomquist at 99 career dual meet wins.
 
Bloomquist will look to reach his milestone 100th victory Wednesday, when the Raiders host a dual meet against PSAC foe Seton Hill. Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
