SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -- The Shippensburg University softball team earned the Atlantic Region's No. 6 seed in the 2022 NCAA Division II Softball Championships on Monday and will serve as the host of the Atlantic 2 Regional pod that includes No. 2 seed Seton Hill, No. 3 seed Bloomsburg and No. 7 seed Claflin.
 
Shippensburg (31-18) will host an NCAA Atlantic Regional at Robb Field for the first time since 2014. This is also SU's first NCAA Tournament appearance overall since hosting the Atlantic Regional in 2014.
 
Kutztown (37-13) is the Atlantic Region's No. 1 seed and will host the Atlantic 1 Regional that features No. 4 Mercyhurst, No. 5 West Va. Wesleyan and No. 8 Fairmont State.
 
Five of the eight teams in the regional are from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC), including three teams from the Eastern Division.
