Â
The SU Sports Information office will be providing updates on social media during the games that the Raiders play.
Â
Shippensburg's opening-game opponent is Mercyhurst, the Western Division No. 3 seed. The Raiders and Lakers did not play in 2022, but the two teams did face each other in 2021 at Robb Field (SU won by scores of 5-2 and 6-3).
Â
SU and Mercyhurst faced off back in the 2011 PSAC Tournament in a game at Shippensburg that was won by the Raiders, 2-1, on a walk-off single by Emily Parkins. The 2011 tournament was conducted in a pod format that was hosted at multiple school sites.
Â
Shippensburg is back in the PSAC Tournament for the first time since 2019. The Raiders are 5-6 in the PSAC Tournament under head coach
Alison Van Scyoc, who has guided the team to the postseason in four of the five seasons during her tenure in which there has been a conference tournament.
Â
SU is seeking its first conference championship since 2005. The Raiders last reached the PSAC Championship game in 2014.
