MacDonald records her 100th career assist

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University lacrosse team could not slow down No. 6 East Stroudsburg in its home finale on Wednesday, dropping a 15-3 decision to the Warriors in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division matchup at cold and windy Robb Sports Complex.

Shippensburg (4-12, 2-9 PSAC East) managed just one goal in each of the first three quarters against East Stroudsburg (14-1, 10-1), who possesses the No. 1 scoring defense in the league. The Raiders managed just 13 shots on goal and could not overcome 25 turnovers.

Graduate Alana Cardaci scored in the first quarter off an assist from senior Hannah Seifried and again in the third off an assist from senior Jena MacDonald. Seifried caged a goal in the second quarter off a MacDonald assist.

MacDonald's second-quarter assist marked the 100th of her career, enhancing her own school record.

Senior KiKi Brasher got the start in goal and made 11 saves in the first half. Freshman Kayla Vosburg worked the final 30 minutes in goal and was credited with one save.

The Warriors got eight points from Kiki Fitzpatrick (four goals, four assists), six points from Gianna LeDuc (four goals, two assists) and a hat trick and five caused turnovers from Emily Mitarotonda. McKenzie Gaghan made nine saves.
