Game 1: Millersville 11, Shippensburg 2

Millersville struck first with three runs on just one hit in the top of the first. The Marauders loaded the bases on two walks and an error, and then delivered a bases-loaded walk, an RBI-infield single and a hit by pitch with the bases loaded a 3-0 lead. Sophomore Emma Flattery came out of the bullpen in the first inning to get the Raiders out of the jam and threw 2.1 innings, striking out five and allowing three hits.

Junior Hannah Palinkas threw 3.1 innings and struck out five Marauders – one shy of her career high. Leber got the final two outs in the circle, including one strikeout.

The Marauders took an 8-0 lead in the fourth inning on a three-run triple by Sam Fried. Entering the bottom of the fifth, and in danger of the run rule taking effect, the Raiders struck back with a pair of runs. A pair of singles by Marsteller and Lindsay and a walk by Minney loaded the bases with two outs. Leber then hit a two-run single to left-center to reduce the deficit to 8-2.

Game 2: Shippensburg 7, Millersville 0

Shippensburg took a 3-0 lead in the third inning. Lacey Hunter doubled and ended up scoring the first run on a bunt single by sophomore Taylor Myers that featured a Millersville error on the play. DeFeo also reached on an error, and with two outs, a two-run triple to right field by Lindsay made it 3-0.

The Raiders scored another run in the next inning off an error by the Marauder defense. SU scored two more runs in the fifth inning to take a 6-0 lead after four straight singles from DeFeo, Marsteller, Lindsay and Minney.

Shippensburg capped its scoring with one more run in the sixth. Myers doubled to left center, and on a single to shortstop by DeFeo, Myers scored on another Marauder error to make it 7-0.

Redshirt-sophomore Maddie Uschock started in the circle for the Raiders and threw 3.1 innings and allowed four hits while striking out four. Freshman Alicia Ball came in as the relief pitcher and got the Raiders out of the pickle in the top of the fourth, stranding the bases loaded of Marauders. Ball did not allow a hit in 3.2 shutout innings of relief, striking out four and allowing one walk.
