The Shippensburg University men's outdoor track & field team was represented by six individuals on Thursday on the first day of the 2022 Bison Outdoor Classic, as its decathletes and discus throwers were in competition at Bucknell's Christy Mathewson Memorial Stadium.
After the first day of the multis,
Mason Boyd sits second in the decathlon standings with 3422 points while
Robert Lissner totaled 2897 points.
Boyd began his day by matching his outdoor best in the 100 meters, running 11.19 seconds, and then proceeded to land a long jump of 21 feet, 10 ¾ inches for another strong point total. He wrapped his day by clearing 6 feet, 0 ½ inches in the high jump. Lissner's top score of the day came after running 11.97 seconds in the 100 meters.
The day also featured the discus throw, in which
Pat Maloney led a group of four Raiders with a fourth-place throw of 166 feet, 3 inches.
Brooks Bear took 10th on a top throw of 147 feet, 7 inches.
Josh Herbster's top throw was 140 feet, 1 inch, and
Alec Rideout had a top throw of 137 feet, 5 inches.
Friday's competition at the Bison Outdoor Classic begins at 8:30 a.m.
