SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University field hockey team had 19 of its players selected Wednesday to the 2021 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II National Academic Squad.
 
The Division II National Academic Squad honors student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the 2021-2022 academic year who were nominated by their coaching staff.
 
More than 540 student-athletes spanning 35 Division II schools earned recognition. Bloomsburg had the most honorees in the nation with 25 players selected.
 
Wednesday marks the first of three academic awards issues by the NFHCA. The organization will announce NFHCA Scholars of Distinction on February 16 and NFHCA National Academic Team awards on February 21.
