Box Score 2 The Shippensburg University baseball team completed a four-game weekend sweep of Goldey-Beacom on Sunday with wins of 2-0 and 10-5 in seven-inning games at Doyle Field in Hockessin, Delaware.

Shippensburg (4-9) cranked out 20 hits on the day, including 15 in the nightcap. Six Raiders had multiple hits spanning the doubleheader, including freshman
Carter Hinds going 6-for-9 out of the leadoff spot.

Goldey-Beacom (3-9), a 2021 NCAA Tournament qualifier, did not record an extra-base hit against the Raiders in 14 innings of play. The Lightning managed just eight singles in the doubleheader.

Shippensburg will host Le Moyne next weekend for a four-game series with the Dolphins that begins Saturday at Fairchild Field.

Shippensburg and Goldey-Beacom combined for seven hits in the opener. The Raiders scored the only runs of the game in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly by junior
Lake Lloyd and a double steal in which redshirt-sophomore

Andrew Chronister stole home.

Sophomore
Gabe Stotler pitched a complete-game shutout, recording eight strikeouts. He only gave up five baserunners, allowing two singles and two walks and hitting one batter.

Hinds was 2-for-4 with a stolen base. Goldey-Beacom's Marshall Awtry went 2-for-3 and Adam Slavin had two walks.

Shippensburg scored runs in five of the seven innings and put up double-digit runs for the first time this season.

Hinds went 4-for-5 out of the leadoff spot with an RBI-single to right field in the second inning and three runs scored.

Graduate
JuJu Cason went 4-for-5 with three RBIs, a stolen base and a run scored. Cason hit two RBI-singles, one in the fourth inning and another in the sixth inning, and an RBI-triple in the seventh inning.

Junior
Justin Darden had two hits, two RBIs, a walk and two runs scored. He hit a sacrifice fly to center field in the second inning and a solo home run in the sixth inning.

Byler hit a two-run double to center field in the first inning and had a walk. Chronister went 3-for-5 with one run scored and hit an RBI-single to right field in the second inning.

Sophomore
Jafari Williams went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored.

Junior
Noah Nabholz got the win, completing five innings and recording four strikeouts. Nabholz allowed three runs in the bottom of the first inning but recovered to allow just one hit over the next four innings.
Austen Labarre threw the final two innings. Â

Goldey-Beacom had five pitchers who made an appearance. Reliever Luke Taylor went four innings with four strikeouts and only allowed one run. The Lightning scored twice in the bottom of the seventh to make the final scoring margin.
