SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's basketball team had all five of its starters post double figures on Wednesday night for the first time this season as it posted a 76-67 victory over West Chester in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division matchup at Heiges Field House.
Shippensburg (15-6, 12-4 PSAC) put forth a defensive effort that held West Chester (12-9, 6-9 PSAC) to 35-percent shooting from the field and just 53 total points entering the final five minutes of the contest. The Golden Rams entered Wednesday's game averaging a conference-best 84.7 points per game and 8.2 three-pointers per game.
SU led wire-to-wire and established a 49-34 halftime lead. The Raiders led by as many as 22 points in the second half before substituting in the final three minutes.
Wednesday marked the 150th career head coaching victory for Shippensburg's
Chris Fite, who is in his ninth season (including 2020-21). Shippensburg has posted a 134-41 record under Fite's direction since the start of the 2015-16 season.

Rashon Johnson led the Raiders with 17 points, nine rebounds, two assists, and a steal. Graduate
Jake Biss dropped 16 points, three rebounds, two assists and one steal.

Carlos Carter contributed 14 points, four rebounds, three assists and a steal. Redshirt-junior
Dom Sleva put up 13 points, seven rebounds, two assists and a steal. Senior
Kiyon Hardy had 13 points, seven rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Senior
Youssef Diabate impressed with a game-high 10 rebounds – five offensive and five defensive – to shatter his previous career high of six set earlier this season versus East Stroudsburg. Diabate also had a layup and a steal.
West Chester had Jamil Manigo put up 15 points, five rebounds and a steal. Kyle McGee had 10 points, four rebounds, an assist, and a steal. Matt Dade contributed nine points, eight rebounds, an assist, and a steal.
Shippensburg is on the road for its next three games, beginning 3 p.m. Saturday at Lock Haven at Thomas Field House.
