The Shippensburg University women's cross country team posted a seventh-place team finish at the 2022 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships hosted by Mansfield University, as three Raiders finished among the Top 30 to earn all-conference classifications.
Graduate
Kyra Gerber finished 13th with a 6K time of 23:04.6 to become the first Raider to finish as a four-time All-PSAC runner since Casey Norton (2013-16). Gerber, running at her fifth and final conference meet, became the first Raider to earn three career All-PSAC First Team classifications since the conference adjusted its all-conference awards in 2014 to designate First Team (first through 15th place) and Second Team (16th through 30th place) honorees.
Gerber's three All-PSAC First Team honors have come in consecutive years; she has improved by one place in the individual standings in each of the last three seasons ('22 First Team [13th], '21 First Team [14th]; '20 First Team [15th]; '19 Second Team [29th] '18 [105th]).
Seven of Shippensburg's 12 runners made their conference championships debut on Saturday. Two of them – freshman
Livi Rieck and redshirt-freshman
Kelsey Hull, earned All-PSAC Second Team honors for their finishes. Rieck was SU's No. 2 runner with a 23rd-place time of 23:33.2, while Hull finished 29th in 23:57.0.
Freshman
Emilea Alleman had a major breakthrough and delivered her first scoring performance as a Raider, cracking the Top 50. Alleman finished 49th in 24:32.4, serving as the team's No. 4 scorer.
Amanda LaVana, running at the PSAC Championships for the fourth time, delivered her first scoring performance at the league meet with a time of 24:36.3 that resulted in 52nd place.
Sophomore
Sadie Hostler improved by more than two minutes from her debut conference championship meet last season, crossing the finish line in 24:49.6 for a 59th-place finish.
The Raiders finished just six points behind sixth-place California (Pa.) and 17 points behind fifth-place Kutztown.
Shippensburg will return to Mansfield's Lamb's Creek course in two weeks for the 2022 NCAA Atlantic Region Championships.
