The Shippensburg University women's swimming team split a road tri-meet at Fairmont State on Friday night; the Raiders defeated the Fighting Falcons, 119-83, but fell to the Vulcans of Cal (Pa.), 111-90.
 
Shippensburg started out the meet with some momentum, as the quartet of junior Sammy Taylor, sophomore Gracie Wetzel, sophomore Kristin Gebhard, and sophomore Allie Keeling won the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:57.19.
 
Keeling delivered a win in the 200-yard freestyle, swimming 2:02.38, and posted a second-place time of 5:26.75 in the 500-yard freestyle that satisfied the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships qualifying standard.
 
Junior Alyssa Tomb contributed a pair of runner-up finishes, completing the 1,000-yard freestyle in 11:39.50, and the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:12.74. Freshman Grace Reagan took second in the 200-yard individual medley (IM) with a time of 2:23.10, and Wetzel was the runner-up in the 100-yard freestyle.
 
Shippensburg returns to action Friday, Nov. 4 for its lone remaining home dual meet – a Senior Night clash with Clarion at Donald N. Miller Pool.
