SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's basketball team used a 15-4 run early in the second half on Saturday to pull away from visiting Lock Haven and record a 69-58 victory over the Bald Eagles in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division matchup at Heiges Field House.
Shippensburg (12-4, 9-2 PSAC) had a 12-0 run midway through the first half to take a 21-9 lead with 6:50 left in the opening frame. SU limited Lock Haven (6-9, 3-8 PSAC) to 23-percent shooting in the first half and led by seven points at halftime.
SU led by as many as 20 points in the second half, shooting 50 percent from the field over the final 20 minutes. Lock Haven got as close as eight points of the lead with 8:25 to play.
Graduate
Jake Biss scored a season-high 25 points, shooting 8-of-15 from the field, 3-of-7 from three-point range and 6-of-7 from the charity stripe. Biss also contributed six assists and three rebounds.
Redshirt-junior
Rashon Johnson recorded his fourth double-double of the season with 11 points, 11 rebounds, two assists and two blocks.
Senior
Kiyon Hardy put up 13 points, four assists, two rebounds and three steals, the latter of which is his most as a Raider.
Junior
Luke Nedrow scored six points and grabbed 11 rebounds in addition to two assists, two blocks and one steal.
Redshirt-junior
Dom Sleva was a third Raider with double-digit rebounds, grabbing 11 in addition to three points, one assist and one steal.
Freshman
Satchel Ball made his collegiate debut and scored four points off the bench. His solid defense also included a rebound and a steal.
Youssef Diabate had two points in six minutes off the bench. Freshman
Michael Dunn hit a three-pointer.
The Bald Eagles got two double-doubles. Jesse McPherson finished with 20 points, 10 rebounds, one assist, and one steal on 8-of-14 shooting. DaQuan Granberry put up 12 points, 10 rebounds, one assist and one steal.
Shippensburg returns to action at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Kutztown.
