Redshirt-junior quarterback Brycen Mussina threw two first-quarter touchdowns and redshirt-sophomore running back Bill Williams ran for two touchdowns as the Shippensburg University football team posted a 30-9 road victory at Edinboro on Saturday at sunny Sox Harrison Stadium.

Shippensburg (2-0) was playing at Edinboro (0-1) for the first time since 2015 and extended its winning streak over the Fighting Scots to four straight games. SU scored touchdowns on its first two possessions and maintained a 20-6 lead at halftime. It was the 30-6 through three quarters with the final scoring being a late Fighting Scot field goal in the final two minutes.

Mussina finished the day 20-of-28 for 257 yards and two touchdowns without an interception. Williams had 22 carries for 89 yards and two touchdowns.

The receiving star of the day was freshman Ian Sheehan, who had six receptions for 143 yards. Sheehan caught a 40-yard touchdown throw from Mussina on the first drive of the game for his first collegiate touchdown.

Graduate Evan Morrill had five catches for 52 yards, while redshirt-senior Kyle Evans had four catches for 43 yards and a touchdown. Redshirt-junior David Balint III caught four passes for 29 yards.

The SU defense stymied Edinboro and limited the Fighting Scots to just 146 yards on offense, including a mere 25 rushing yards. The Raiders were credited with just one sack, recorded by game captain sophomore Jacoby Sherard, but were regularly in the backfield. SU had 5.0 tackles-for-loss (TFLs) and five pass breakups.

Senior Trey Paul was credited with a team-high six tackles and he forced a fumble in the third quarter that was recovered by redshirt-freshman Matt Feeney. Redshirt-junior Josh Russo and junior Demetrius Hudson each had five tackles, with Russo tallying 1.5 TFLs.

Shippensburg returns to action at 1 p.m. Saturday at Clarion.
