SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's swimming team and women's swimming team were named Tuesday as Spring 2021 College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Teams, maintaining their long-standing tradition of academic excellence.
Shippensburg's women posted a 3.59 team GPA for the spring semester, ranking fourth among schools in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC). The women's squad was one of 10 PSAC schools recognized.
Shippensburg's men posted a 3.28 team GPA for the spring semester – an improvement from the fall. The men's squad was one of five PSAC schools recognized.
"Coach Verge continues to set the standard for success both in the pool and the classroom," noted CSCAA Executive Director Greg Earhart.
The Scholar All-America Team award is presented to college swimming and diving teams that achieve a team grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher. The award is presented twice annually, once in the fall semester and once in the spring semester.
