The Shippensburg University women's swimming team continued its weekend Saturday with a pair of timed finals sessions at the 10th Annual Bomber Invitational hosted by Ithaca College.
 
Morning Session Highlights
The morning session wrapped up strong with a second-place finish in the 400-yard medley relay, as the quartet of sophomore Marissa Bittner, freshman Lauren Croll, senior Tomomi Nakano and senior Madison Breiner completed their swim in 4:00.91.
 
The opening relay (200 freestyle) featured Croll, sophomore Sammy Taylor, Nakano and Breiner placing sixth in 1:39.61. Nakano paced the Raiders in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:00.79, while Croll equaled the league standard in the event by swimming 1:01.36.
 
Breiner was one of three Raiders with Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) cuts in the 200-yard freestyle, placing sixth in 1:57.31. Bittner swam 2:00.21, and sophomore Alyssa Tomb swam 2:01.79.
 
Sophomore Michaela Hersh finished third overall in the 400-yard individual medley (IM), touching the wall in 4:44.11. Sophomore Rachel Johnston also had a solid PSAC cut with an 11th-place finish of 4:53.00.
 
Evening Session Highlights
The 100-yard breaststroke was a signature event on the night for the Raiders as six women satisfied the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) standard. Croll paced the Raiders with a seventh-place finish of 1:08.94, while freshman Emily Newton impressed with a time of 1:10.30. Tomb swam 1:10.43, freshman Kristin Gebhard swam 1:10.74, senior Natalie Wiley swam 1:10.79 and senior Eva Tice completed her swim in 1:11.24.
 
In the 100-yard backstroke, Nakano broke the 60-second mark with an impressive eighth-place time of 59.66 seconds. Bittner, Breiner and Taylor each cracked the Top 20 finishers with PSAC cuts. Senior Bri Joll paced the Raiders in the 200-yard butterfly with a conference cut of 2:20.69.
 
The meet concludes at 9 a.m. Sunday with one more timed finals session.
