SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Shippensburg University senior associate director of athletics and senior woman administrator (SWA) Carrie Michaels was appointed today to the Implementation Committee by the NCAA Division II Administrative Committee.

Wednesday's announcement assigns Michaels as one of the voting members who will lead NCAA Division II's work after the Association-wide vote on a new constitution at the 2022 NCAA Convention on Jan. 20 in Indianapolis.

Michaels, who currently serves as Vice Chair of the NCAA Division II Management Council, will also represent the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) on the committee. The Implementation Committee includes one representative from all 23 Division II conferences and five current and former student-athletes.

Among the tasks issued to Michaels and the Implementation Committee include reviewing NCAA Division II's rules and policies and making recommendations to ensure that changes are consistent with the principles agreed upon in the new constitution.

The Implementation Committee will begin meeting in January. Any recommendations from the committee will follow the current Division II governance structure, legislation, and policies.

At Shippensburg, Michaels is a member of the senior management team on behalf of athletics. Her intercollegiate experience includes the overall development and management of NCAA Division II athletics with responsibilities that include budget oversight, supervision of sport programs and support services, fund-raising, policy creation and implementation, selection and evaluation of department personnel, game operations and promotions, and student-athlete development.
