The Shippensburg University field hockey team earned the No. 1 seed in the Atlantic Region and the No. 1 seed overall in the 2021 NCAA Division II Field Hockey Championships as the tournament field was announced Monday afternoon via an online selection show.

As the top seed, Shippensburg (18-0) earned a first-round bye and an automatic bid into the NCAA Semifinals. The Raiders will await the winner of the NCAA Quarterfinal matchup between No. 4 East Stroudsburg (15-4) and No. 5 Bentley (15-4). That game will be played Saturday at East Stroudsburg.

Assumption (20-1) earned the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye into the NCAA Semifinals. They await the winner of No. 3 West Chester (15-4) and No. 6 Adelphi (14-5). That game will be played Saturday at West Chester.

Shippensburg advances to the NCAA Tournament for the 15th time in school history. SU is 14-10 all-time in the NCAA Tournament, including four national championships (2013, 2016, 2017, 2018).

The 2021 NCAA Division II National Championship Semifinals and Championship Game will be played at Chryst Field at Biemesderfer Stadium on the campus of Millersville University. The semifinal games are scheduled for 2 and 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 19 and the championship game is set for 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 21. All games will air on NCAA.com.
