SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's soccer team honored five senior players in a pre-match ceremony Saturday night but dropped a 3-1 decision to Lock Haven in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division match at David See Field.
Shippensburg (4-10-3, 2-10 PSAC East) was trailing 1-0 in the 25th minute when senior
Harry Kershaw was fouled in the box. Senior
Kyle Willwerth converted the resulting penalty kick for his first collegiate goal.
Lock Haven (13-2-2, 10-1-1) scored in 20th minute off a tight cross from Colton Swanson that was headed into the net by Samuel Hershey. The Bald Eagles retook the lead in the 34th minute when Andrea DiSomma snuck a pass to Zane Puhala who scored a breakaway goal. Lock Haven built on its lead in the 71st minute off a DiSomma goal that was set up by a Hershey pass.
It was a busy day for Hershey, who kicked two extra points for the LHU Football team at Seth Grove Stadium earlier in the day before heading across campus to David See Field to play for the soccer team and net a goal and an assist.
Lock Haven affirmed its ranking as the PSAC Eastern Division Champions with the victory.

Rene Quintanilla and Willwerth in a pre-match ceremony in which the men were presented jerseys.
Shippensburg concluded its season with Saturday's match.
