SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Shippensburg University women's basketball head coach Kristy Trn has confirmed the recruitment of three players who have signed either national letters of intent (NLI) or institutional letters to attend the university and suit up for the Raider program in the 2022-23 season.
 
The following three forwards are set to join the Raiders next season:
 
Makayla Foddrell

Warrenton, Va./Fauquier
 
Fauquier High School: Totaled four varsity letters for the Falcons playing for her father, head coach Brian Foddrell…played at the club level with Winchester Rising Stars for coach Erick Green…led her high school team to its first District Championship and regional appearance in 52 years…earned All-District Second Team honors as a sophomore and All-District honorable mention as a freshman…named to the USJN All-Star Team as a freshman and sophomore…averaged more than 14 points per game as a junior to lead her team…served as her team's second-leading scorer as a freshman and sophomore…ranked second on her team in rebounding as a junior and sophomore, averaging seven rebounds per game…averages a team-leading six assists per game…served as a team captain as a senior, junior and sophomore…received the Team Leadership Award as a sophomore…is an honor-roll student with a 3.5 GPA.
 
About Foddrell: Full name is Makayla Latrice Foddrell…is the daughter of Brian and Cheryl Foddrell…has a sister, Ondria, and a brother, Christopher…grandfather Moyer Foddrell Jr. played in the World Football League for the Philadelphia Bells…great grandfather Moyer Foddrell Sr. was a catcher in the Negro Leagues who played alongside Satchel Paige.

Camp Hill High School: Totaled four varsity letters for the Lions under head coach Mark Clarke…played at the club level with Team Pennsylvania for coach John Polly…ranked third in the Mid-Penn Conference in rebounding as a junior…averaged 12 points per game as a junior…served as a team captain…is a member of the National Honor Society and the National Language Honors Society as a member of her school's Distinguished Honor Roll…amassed eight varsity letters overall spanning basketball, tennis and softball.
