The Shippensburg University wrestling team got pins from three of its wrestlers Wednesday night as it snuck past host Waynesburg, 27-23, in a 45-minute dual meet at the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse.

Shippensburg won four of the six contested bouts on the night. Freshman
Josh Jackson opened the night with a pin in 96 seconds at 125 pounds to give the Raiders an early lead.

The Raiders got back-to-back pins from
Matt Milbrand and
John Bachar at 157 and 165 respectively to take a 24-11 lead. Milbrand scored his victory by fall 31 seconds into the second period, while Bachar got his with 50 seconds remaining in his match.

Ultimately, the dual meet came down to heavyweight, where
Danny Scheib notched a 3-2 decision to affirm the Raider victory.

Of the four weight classes not contested, Waynesburg claimed two wins by forfeit and Shippensburg one. Neither team had an entry at 184 pounds.

Shippensburg is next scheduled to wrestle Wednesday at Bloomsburg.
