The Shippensburg University women's swimming team was victorious in a tri-meet on Friday night, defeating Fairmont State 84-38 and host Cal U. by a score of 77-47.
 
The Raiders won both relays and had three individual event champions on the night. Senior Madison Breiner won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:02.06, satisfying the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying standard in the event, while sophomore Marissa Bittner won the 200-yard backstroke in a conference cut of 2:39.60.
 
SU went 1-2-3 in the 200-yard breaststroke, with freshman Kristin Gebhard winning in 2:39.60. Freshman Gracie Wetzel and sophomore Alyssa Tomb finished within .05 seconds of each other in second and third place.
 
Sophomore Michaela Hersh notched a PSAC cut in the 400-yard IM, swimming 4:53.06. Hersh was also second in the 200-yard butterfly. Freshman Lauren Croll was the runner-up in the 100-yard freestyle, swimming a conference cut of 55.64 seconds, while Gebhard was second in the 50-yard freestyle after swimming 26.53 seconds.
 
The quartet of senior Tomomi Nakano, Croll, Gebhard and Breiner won the 200-yard medley relay in 1:53.19, while the quartet of Nakano, Croll, sophomore Sammy Taylor and Breiner won the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:43.52.
 
Shippensburg is back in action Nov. 5 at Clarion.
