The Shippensburg University men's indoor track & field team got strong performances from several athletes Friday night as a split squad competed at the Bucknell Tune-Up.
Sophomore
Brooks Bear landed yet another weight throw PR this season, with his Friday effort being his first-ever NCAA provisional qualifier. Bear threw the weight 58 feet, 1 ¾ inches (17.72 meters), finishing second, to make him one of four men in the conference to surpass the 58-foot mark this season.
Sophomore
Pat Maloney paced the Raiders in the shot, finishing third on a put of 49 feet, 0 ¼ inches. Maloney also had a weight throw season best of 53 feet, 1 inch.
Senior
Conner Oldt ran a new PR in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing third on a top time of 8.39 seconds. Oldt improved his PR by .03 seconds and should be seeded as one of the Top 8 in the league at next week's conference championships.
Sophomore
Josh Booth picked a conference qualifier in the 200 meters, running fifth in 23.03 seconds, and completed the 400-meter dash in 51.33 seconds.
The 2020 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held next Saturday and Sunday, February 29 – March 1, at Edinboro University.
