SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Shippensburg University women's basketball head coach
Kristy Trn has confirmed the recruitment of Bishop McDevitt High School guard Taja Colbert, who has signed a national letter of intent (NLI) to attend the university and suit up for the Raider program in the 2021-22 season.
"We are very excited to have Taja join our family," Trn said. "She is dynamic, and an exciting player to watch on both sides of the ball. Taja has offensive firepower, and the ability to be a lock-down defender."
Colbert, a standout for the Crusaders and head coach Kevin Dupes, is a Mid-Penn Conference Keystone Division First Team All Star who averaged 15 points and three assists per game in her junior season.
She becomes the third member of her immediate family to attend Shippensburg University. Her mother and grandmother both attended the school and competed in track & field for the Raiders.
