The Shippensburg University wrestling team was defeated on Saturday afternoon at No. 11 Mercyhurst, falling 42-6 to the Lakers in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) dual meet from the Mercyhurst Athletic Center.
 
Redshirt-junior DeAndre Reed was the lone winner of the day for the Raiders. Reed scored a victory by fall with six seconds remaining in his match at 149 pounds.  
 
In a battle of nationally-ranked heavyweights, No. 10-ranked senior Derek Berberick dropped a 4-0 decision to No. 3 Jake Robb of Mercyhurst. The difference in the match was a takedown awarded to Robb late in the second period that made the score 3-0. Berberick escaped right at the second-period buzzer, but after review, the escape was not granted in time. Robb rode Berberick the length of the third period to achieve a riding-time point.
 
Shippensburg returns to action at 7 p.m. Friday when it hosts No. 4 Pitt-Johnstown from Heiges Field House.
