The Shippensburg University lacrosse team was unable to slow down No. 8 West Chester on Wednesday, dropping a 19-8 decision to the Golden Rams in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup from Vonnie Gros Field.

Shippensburg (4-7, 2-5 PSAC) was held off the scoresheet for the first 13 minutes of play, during which West Chester (10-2, 6-1) established a 7-0 lead that proved insurmountable. The Golden Rams committed just nine turnovers in Wednesday's game and out-shot the Raiders by a 43-13 margin.

Gabby Savarino recorded her first career hat trick, scoring a career-high three goals and recording two of Shippensburg's 10 draw controls. Savarino has scored six goals over her last three games.

The Golden Rams got seven points (four goals, three assists) from Sami Barnett and five points (two goals, three assists) from Tara Morrissey. Eleven different Golden Rams found the back of the net. Brenna Lynch and Molly Reinhart led all players with three caused turnovers each.
