Derek Berberick finished the 2019 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships with a pair of victories in wrestlebacks, posting a 2-2 record in competition held in Cleveland, Ohio.

Berberick dropped a 5-2 decision in his opening match to Lindenwood's Courvoisier Morrow, but immediately rebounded in the first round of wrestlebacks by pinning Mary's Gerardo Jaime in 5:24. He held a 5-2 lead in the third period against Jaime on the strength of a third-period takedown before achieving the pin. Â

In his second wrestleback match, Berberick scored a 14-1 major decision over Limestone's Daniel Bland. Berberick tallied three two-point near falls and three takedowns in his victory. His final match of the day came against Ashland's Tristan Weirich – Weirich scored a victory by fall in 1:35.

For the season, Berberick led the Raiders with a 16-9 record that included five pins and a technical fall. He placed sixth at the 2018 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships, competing against a field that included wrestlers from four NCAA Division I programs.
