The Shippensburg University women's soccer team could not find the answer for host Kutztown on Saturday, dropping a 4-0 decision to the Golden Bears in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division matchup from Keystone Field.
Shippensburg (7-8, 5-8 PSAC East) recorded five corner kicks in the match but managed just four shots on goal. The loss marked the first time in the last nine matches that the Raiders were kept off the scoreboard. Sophomore goalkeeper
Kasey Doss made five saves.
Kutztown (8-6, 6-6) got a natural hat trick from Emily Zwiercan that proved decisive. Zwiercan's first strike came just 2:23 into the contest. Kayla Argen also chipped home a goal for the hosts.
The Golden Bears continue to have SU's number, having won six straight in the series dating back through 2015. KU out-scored the Raiders this season 9-1 over the course of two meetings.
Shippensburg's road swing continues Wednesday night at No. 22 East Stroudsburg.
