Lacrosse Drops PSAC Road Match at No. 21 IUP, 17-5

Kengor, Cardaci score twice for the Raiders in the setback

The Shippensburg University lacrosse team came up short on Saturday in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) road match at No. 21 IUP, dropping a 17-5 decision to the Crimson Hawks on a sunny and warm afternoon.

Shippensburg (6-7, 2-6 PSAC) was within one goal of IUP (8-3, 5-3) with 13 minutes remaining in the first half, but the Crimson Hawks erupted for seven goals to take a 10-3 lead into halftime. The Raiders mustered two goals in the second half but could not get any closer.

Senior Jordan Kengor and freshman Alana Cardaci each scored twice in the contest, while junior Kyra Shank added a goal and an assist. It was the third straight game in which Shank found the back of the net. Freshman Maddy Siejk added an assist and collected two draw controls.

Freshman KiKi Brasher made five saves and led the Raiders with three groundballs. Sophomore Morgan Schantz and junior Morgan Stone each collected multiple groundballs, while junior Valerie Hertz led the Raiders with two caused turnovers.

Shippensburg will face its third straight nationally-ranked opponent on Tuesday when it hosts No. 18 East Stroudsburg at 4 p.m. from Robb Sports Complex.
