SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University lacrosse team scored six goals in the first seven minutes of play Friday and got hat tricks from three players in a 20-4 non-conference victory over Holy Family on a frigid, brisk, cool, windy day at Robb Sports Complex.

Shippensburg (2-1) led 12-4 at halftime and held Holy Family (0-3) scoreless for the second half en route to the convincing victory. Freshman
KiKi Brasher made three saves in the win for the Raiders, while Holy Family keeper Amber Frechette held strong in making 16 saves.

Morgan Stone, freshman
Alana Cardaci and senior
T.J. Johnson each netted hat tricks. Stone and Cardaci each scored twice during SU's opening run.

Stone had three goals, an assist, a groundball and two draw controls. Cardaci posted her third consecutive hat trick to begin the season while also recording an assist, groundball and caused turnover. Off the bench, Johnson had three goals, two assists, two groundballs and two caused turnovers.

Freshman
Jena MacDonald led all players with six points – totaling two goals and four assists. Junior
Madi Newman had two goals, an assist, four draw controls, four groundballs, and two caused turnovers. Senior
Allison Fugate also added a pair of goals.
