The Shippensburg University women's basketball team continued its road trip on Saturday in Lock Haven, but the Raiders could not stave off the Bald Eagles in dropping a 76-65 decision in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division play from Thomas Fieldhouse.
Shippensburg (5-17, 4-12 PSAC) trailed by five points at halftime and by 10 points with 4:38 remaining in the third quarter before reeling off a 12-2 run that tied the score, 45-45.
Lock Haven (4-17, 3-14), however, closed the third quarter with four points and then opened the fourth quarter on a 7-1 run to re-claim a double-digit lead. The Bald Eagles led by as many as 14 points in the final frame, with SU getting as close as eight points down the stretch.

Kryshell Gordy tied a career high with 19 points, shooting 8-of-10 from the field while totaling five rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks. It is the ninth time this season Gordy has reached double figures in scoring.

Kasey Engle scored a career-high 16 points, making 7-of-9 from the field to go along with four rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block. Engle posted double figures for the sixth time this season.

Lili Benzel scored 13 points off the bench, finishing one point shy of her career high. Benzel hit three three-pointers and tied a career high with five rebounds,
Senior
Kristin McGeough scored six points, grabbed 10 rebounds and matched a career high with four assists in 19 minutes of action. McGeough posted double-digit rebounds for the seventh time this season.
Freshman
Ariel Jones was held to a season-low four points, marking the first time in her career she did not reach double figures. Jones missed the entire second quarter due to foul trouble – all of her points came in the second half. Jones totaled three rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Shippensburg heads to Kutztown on Monday for a makeup game with the Golden Bears. Tip-off on Monday is at 5:30 p.m. from Keystone Arena.
