The Shippensburg University women's basketball team played its first road game of the season Saturday, dropping a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup at No. 3 IUP by a score of 66-32 from Memorial Field House.
Shippensburg (4-5, 2-1 PSAC) shot just 25 percent from the field and could not overcome 27 turnovers. Sophomore
Ariel Jones was the only Raider in double figures, scoring 10 points. Freshman
Aunbrielle Green had six points and five rebounds, while freshman
Lauren Pettis paced the Raiders with eight rebounds.
IUP (8-0, 3-0) scored 20 points in the first half off 15 SU turnovers and used a 14-2 run over the final 5:18 of the second quarter to establish a 25-point halftime lead. Carolyn Appleby led the Crimson Hawks with 22 points while recording four assists and four steals.
