SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University field hockey team earned its first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) victory of the season Saturday afternoon, posting a 2-1 decision over Mansfield at Robb Sports Complex.

Shippensburg (7-2, 1-1 PSAC) got goals from freshman
Adrienne McGarrigle and sophomore
Jazmin Petrantonio, while redshirt-senior goalkeeper
Ally Mooney made three saves in the victory.

McGarrigle notched her first collegiate goal, tapping the ball past the goalkeeper at the 13-minute mark to give the Raiders a 1-0 lead. Petrantonio netted the game-winner with eight minutes remaining in the first half. The sophomore dribbled up the middle and scored from 10 yards out for her 13th goal of the season.

Mansfield (5-5, 1-1) was study along the back lines. The Mountaineer defense stopped 10 Raider corner attempts and made two defensive saves. The Raiders claimed a 21-14 advantage in shots and a 10-5 advantage in penalty corners.
