SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to visiting Bloomsburg on Wednesday night in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup from David See Field.
Shippensburg (5-5-0, 4-5-0 PSAC) managed just four shots on goal against Bloomsburg (7-2-1, 7-2-1), a squad that has yielded just four goals through its 10 matches this season. Jenna Hawkins made four saves for the visitors, while sophomore
Delaney Shifflett recorded 12 saves in the loss for the Raiders.
The Huskies opened the scoring in the 18th minute on a through ball and finish in the box. Bloomsburg scored again with 2:56 left in the half, converting a loose ball off a scrum in the box, to take a 2-0 lead in the intermission. BU converted a penalty kick with 6:48 remaining after a handball in the box to produce the match's final scoring margin.
The Raiders will be looking to snap a four-match losing streak with their next match this weekend.
