SU gets its first PSAC road win of the year; Jones scores 32 points in the win

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's basketball team raced out to a 13-point halftime lead on Wednesday evening en route to its first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) road victory of the season, an 83-64 win over the Bloomsburg Huskies from Nelson Field House.

Shippensburg (4-14, 3-9 PSAC) made 4-of-6 from three-point range in the first quarter, including three by freshman Ariel Jones, to take a 21-12 lead after the opening 10 minutes. SU scored the first five points of the second quarter and then opened the third quarter on a 7-0 run to build a 20-point lead.

Bloomsburg (6-14, 3-11) got as close as 12 points in the fourth quarter. The Huskies committed 26 turnovers, off which the Raiders scored a season-high 22 points. SU also posted a 41-28 rebounding advantage over Bloomsburg.

She was 10-of-19 from the field, including 4-of-7 from three-point range, and 8-of-8 from the free-throw line. In addition to her second career 30-point game, Jones totaled seven rebounds, four assists and three steals.
