SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The No. 2-ranked Shippensburg University Field Hockey team will host No. 1 East Stroudsburg at 2 p.m. Wednesday in a pivotal Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) showdown from Robb Sports Complex.

Wednesday's contest marks the fourth straight regular-season meeting between the two teams in which both squads have been ranked either No. 1 or No. 2 in the country per the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II National Poll.

One such meeting occurred earlier this season, when No. 1 Shippensburg dropped a 2-0 decision at No. 2 East Stroudsburg on September 6. The two-goal victory by the Warriors ended a six-game streak in the series in which each matchup was decided by a one-goal margin (recent series history below). 

Through the first four-plus weeks of the season, Shippensburg and East Stroudsburg are among the national leaders in numerous statistical categories. The Raiders lead the nation in penalty corners per game (15.86), while the Warriors are tied for the nation's lead in shutouts with five through nine games.
