SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University softball team swept a non-conference doubleheader with Goldey-Beacom on Sunday, cranking out 20 hits in defeating the Lightning by scores of 7-2 and 6-2 on a beautiful, sunny afternoon from Robb Field.

Shippensburg (19-16) hit .377 as a team on the day, including nine hits with runners in scoring position. All nine Raider starters had at least one hit, with six players collecting multiple hits on the day.

Tara Bicko was 4-for-7 with two doubles, three RBIs and two runs scored. Bicko extended her hitting streak to five games; she was 2-for-4 at the plate in Game 1 and 2-for-3 in Game 2.

Macy Luck was 3-for-5 with a double, sacrifice fly, two RBIs, stolen base and two runs scored. Freshman
Meghan Klee reached base four times, totaling three hits, two RBIs and a hit-by-pitch.

In Game 1, junior
Chloe Collins was 3-for-4 with three RBIs, two runs and a stolen base. Collins delivered a key two-out, two-run single in the sixth to provide the Raiders with key insurance runs. For the season, Collins has totaled 30 RBIs – the most by an SU player since Taylor Weisman had 33 in the 2014 season.

Kayla Bonawitz and junior
Anna Warfield each collected multiple hits on the day. Bonawitz singled twice, stole two bases and scored two runs. Warfield had two singles, two RBIs, a walk, and a run scored. She has reached base in five straight games and was 6-for-12 (.500) in five games this week.

Shippensburg's pitchers allowed just two earned runs on the day. Sophomore
Taryn Wilson threw a complete game in the nightcap, scattering two runs (one earned) on three hits and striking out eight hitters.

Freshman
Addy Szczerba made her first collegiate start in Game 1 and achieved her first collegiate victory – allowing two runs (one earned) in 5.1 innings of work. Szczerba scattered six hits and three walks while striking out five.

Sophomore
Julia Tosti got the final five outs of the opener, allowing just one walk in the process, to pick up her third save of the season.

Shippensburg hosts East Stroudsburg at 2:30 p.m. Friday for a pivotal PSAC East doubleheader with the Warriors from Robb Field.
