Raiders fall 5-0, 10-2 to the Rams on Wednesday

The Shippensburg University softball team dropped a pair of games Wednesday in a non-conference doubleheader at Shepherd, falling 5-0 in Game 1 and 10-2 (five innings) in Game 2 to the Rams on a sunny afternoon from the SU Softball Field.

Shippensburg (16-15) collected 11 hits on the day, with both RBIs coming off the bat of junior Chloe Collins. She had a double, sacrifice fly and sacrifice bunt on the day, going 2-for-4 at the plate.

Junior Maddie Mulhall and freshman Kendall Geis each provided two hits as well. Junior Tara Bicko had a double and a run scored.

The Raiders used four pitchers on the day, with sophomores Nicole Smith and Taryn Wilson earning starts. Smith pitched four innings, striking out one, while Wilson worked in relief in Game 1 and started Game 2 – totaling three strikeouts in 3.2 innings. Freshman Addy Szczerba and sophomore Julia Tosti worked in relief.
