SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's basketball team honored its seven seniors before its regular-season home finale on Saturday and proceeded to post a convincing victory over visiting Cheyney, defeating the Wolves 73-45 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division matchup from Heiges Field House.
Shippensburg (22-5, 17-4 PSAC) led by 20 points through three quarters and by as many as 30 points in the fourth quarter to win its 17th consecutive game. SU limited Cheyney (5-17, 5-16) to just 26.7-percent shooting, and the 45 points allowed by the Raiders marks the eighth time this season that they have held an opponent under 50 points in a game.
Cheyney hung with the Raiders through much of the first half, trailing by just three points (18-15) with 5:44 remaining in the second quarter. Shippensburg, however, closed the second quarter on a 16-4 run to lead by 15 points at halftime.
The day was one of special recognition for the SU senior class – a group that has combined for 6,078 career points in a Raider uniform. All five senior starters posted double figures on the day, with senior
Lauren Gold pacing the group with 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting from three-point range. Gold matched a season high with her five three-pointers, doing so for the fourth time on the year.
Logan Snyder scored 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting to complement six assists and four rebounds. Post players

Morgan Griffith each scored 10 points – Knauer had a team-high seven rebounds, while Griffith had six rebounds and tied a career high with four assists.
Colleen Young scored 11 points, all in the second half, and is now just 20 points shy of becoming the fifth Raider senior starter to reach 1,000 points in a career.
Haley Scullion was outstanding in 17 minutes of play with six points on 3-of-4 shooting with four rebounds, and two steals.
Chanice Lee added a rebound and an assist.
Overall, Shippensburg was a highly-efficient 8-of-15 (53 percent) from three-point range. SU shot 48 percent overall from the field.
The Raiders finished the regular season with a 14-1 record at home, its best mark inside Heiges Field House since the 1997-98 season. Over the last two seasons, SU is 27-3 inside the friendly confines.
Shippensburg concludes the regular season at 6 p.m. Wednesday when it travels to East Stroudsburg for a matchup with the Warriors.
