Ariel Jones but could not overcome undefeated Edinboro, dropping an 82-64 decision to the Fighting Scots in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup from McComb Fieldhouse.
Shippensburg (0-4, 0-2 PSAC) shot 48 percent from the field, with Jones posting her third collegiate game of at least 24 points. Redshirt-freshman
Lindsay Embly scored a career-high 11 points, including 5-of-5 at the free-throw line.

Victoria Blackburn had four points and six assists, while freshman
Kasey Engle had seven points, three rebounds and two steals. Senior
Kristin McGeough had six points and four rebounds.
Edinboro (5-0, 2-0) committed just 10 turnovers while scoring 32 points off Raider turnovers. The Fighting Scots got 25 points, six assists and five steals from Jontay Wilson, 16 points from Michelle Jahn, and 8 points and 13 rebounds off the bench from Cheniya Sharpe.
SU trailed 38-27 at the half, and Edinboro pulled away with a 31-15 third quarter.
Shippensburg returns to action at 6 p.m. Tuesday when it travels to Philadelphia for a non-conference matchup with Jefferson University.
