The Shippensburg University softball team traveled to No. 13 West Chester on Thursday for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division doubleheader with the Golden Rams, but the Raiders dropped both games by scores of 5-0 and 10-1 (five innings) from the WCU Softball Field.

Shippensburg (16-25, 3-11 PSAC East) totaled seven hits on the day, including five in Game 2. In Game 1, freshman
Megan Hevey broke up a no-hitter with a one-out single in the fifth inning, while senior
Taylor Pattillo singled in the sixth inning. Pattillo reached base in all three Game 1 plate appearances, drawing a pair of walks.

Maddie Schafer produced SU's RBI in Game 2. Schafer singled home sophomore
Chloe Collins in the fourth inning, as the Raiders loaded the bases with one out.

SU struggled defensively on the day, committing six errors in the doubleheader.

West Chester (45-5, 12-2), the PSAC's top-hitting team with a .339 batting average, totaled 23 hits on the day. The Golden Rams have totaled 135 extra-base hits this season, including eight on Thursday.

Shippensburg will conclude its regular season at 1 p.m. Saturday for a Senior Day doubleheader with East Stroudsburg from Robb Field. Between games, SU will recognize senior
Briana Giovenco and Pattillo along with former players
Taylor Llewellyn and
Quincy Lewis. The team will also recognize sophomore
Eryn Caragein, who is transferring from Shippensburg to a new school in order to complete her desired academic major.
