The Shippensburg University lacrosse team traveled to IUP on Saturday and came up short against the Crimson Hawks, dropping a 17-5 decision in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup from Miller Stadium.

Shippensburg (3-4, 0-3 PSAC) scored twice in the first half and three times in the second half, but the Raiders could not slow down the relentless IUP (5-3, 3-0) attack that established a seven-goal halftime lead began the second half with five consecutive tallies.

SU simply could not establish regular possession in the contest, as the Crimson Hawks had a 20-4 advantage in draw controls. The teams were even in turnovers (23), while IUP posted a 29-16 advantage in shots.

Morgan Stone opened the scoring for the Raiders at the 19:06 mark, while senior
Tanisha Joseph added a free-position tally before halftime.

Ali Harclerode scored on a free-position shot, and sophomore
Allison Fugate and freshman
Kyra Shank also added goals. Fugate assisted on Shank's goal with 4:28 to play.

Annemarie Cericola continues to perform extremely well on the back lines for the Raiders. Cericola collected three caused turnovers for the second consecutive game, but also led all players in collecting a career-high eight groundballs. Cericola's 31 groundballs are one shy of the PSAC lead through seven games.

Ally Frymoyer and freshman
Aly Danick each spent a half in goal. Frymoyer made six saves and collected three groundballs in the first half, while Danick recorded three saves in the second half.

Shippensburg returns home Tuesday for a 4 p.m. conference matchup with Millersville from Robb Sports Complex.
