SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's basketball team fell to Edinboro, 64-57, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup at Heiges Field House Sunday afternoon.
Shippensburg (3-1, 1-1 PSAC) held a one-point advantage over Edinboro (3-2, 2-0 PSAC), 33-32, after shooting 43 percent from the field in the first 20 minutes of play.
The Fighting Scots would not take their first lead of the game until the 2:27 mark of the third quarter after Katie Fischer knocked down a mid-range jumper. Fischer scored a game-high 20 points.
After taking a one-point advantage into the fourth quarter, the Raiders fell behind 57-50 after the Fighting Scots used a 7-0 run to break a 50-50 tie. The 7-0 run proved too much to overcome for the Raiders as they dropped their first decision of the year.
Graduate Stephanie Knauer led Shippensburg with 16 points while grabbing eight rebounds. Senior Logan Snyder added 15 points while senior Morgan Griffith grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds.
Shippensburg will return to action Sunday at 1 p.m. at the University of the Sciences.
