Lauren Gold surpassed the 1,000-point plateau Saturday night en route to 2016 Wolf's Bus Lines Classic MVP honors, as the Shippensburg University women's basketball team defeated Bowie State, 75-69, resulting in the 300th career victory for head coach

Shippensburg (2-0) and Bowie State (1-1) each held leads for long stretches, but the Raiders book-ended their advantages to gain the victory. SU opened the fourth quarter on a 6-0 run to grab an eight-point lead and ultimately stave off the Bulldogs. The Raiders led for 19:00, while Bowie led for 18:56.
The visitors got within one point on multiple occasions down the stretch, but Shippensburg got a put-back from senior
Haley Scullion with 51 seconds remaining and hit 5-of-6 free throws in the final 30 seconds for the win.
Gold hit a three-pointer with 6:20 remaining in the second quarter to become the 21st player in school history to eclipse 1,000 points. She finished with 14 points, making two three-pointers and going 6-for-6 from the free-throw line, while handing out seven assists to just one turnover. Gold also had four rebounds.
In two games this weekend, Gold totaled a team-high 34 points to complement eight assists, six steals and five rebounds.
Senior
Logan Snyder was also named to the All-Tournament Team after reaching double figures for the second straight game. Snyder scored 13 points, shooting 5-of-6 from the field, recorded five assists and grabbed three rebounds while committing just two turnovers in 35 minutes. Snyder had 23 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds in two games this weekend.
Graduate
Stephanie Knauer led all scorers on Saturday night with 19 points on 7-of-8 shooting. Senior
Morgan Griffith made the most of her 25 minutes before fouling out, as she totaled seven points, nine rebounds and four assists.
Senior
Colleen Young provided valuable offense with 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting. Scullion had six points, including the game's final two free throws.
Trn, SU's all-time winningest women's basketball coach, improved her career record to 300-165 at the helm of the Raiders.
Shippensburg opens conference play at 1 p.m. Saturday when it hosts Slippery Rock from Heiges Field House.
