SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's soccer team returned home on a sunny Wednesday afternoon but dropped a 1-0 decision to visiting Seton Hill in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup at David See Field.
Shippensburg (5-6, 2-5 PSAC) picked up the pace in the second half, firing six shots and working four corner kicks, but the Raiders could not establish consistent offense against the visiting Griffins.
Seton Hill (7-4, 4-2) notched the only goal of the match less than four minutes before halftime, as Rory McKinnon was able to work some space and fire a shot into the top right corner off an assist from Louis Mason.
The visitors posted a 23-6 margin in shots and an 11-3 advantage in shots on goal. SU did record a 5-3 margin in corner kicks.
Redshirt-freshman
Garret Watson had a strong effort in goal, making a career-high nine saves. Watson had several diving stops and was integral to the Raider defensive effort.
Shippensburg returns to action at 1:30 p.m. Saturday versus Mercyhurst in a PSAC matchup at David See Field.
