The No. 2 Shippensburg University field hockey team defeated No. 7 Bloomsburg in a shootout, 1-0, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup to conclude the regular season.
 
With the victory, Shippensburg clinched the No. 2 seed for the PSAC Tournament and will next play in the PSAC Semifinals on Friday in East Stroudsburg.

The match will be at noon against either No. 3 seed West Chester or No. 6 seed IUP. 
 
Shippensburg (16-2, 9-1 PSAC) out-shot Bloomsburg (12-6, 6-4) by a 22-11 margin, while 15 of those 22 shots were on goal. The Raiders also out-cornered the Huskies, 20-10.
 
Despite all the activity, Shippensburg and Bloomsburg needed the 1-v-1 overtime session to determine a winner. Ironically, the last 1-v-1 overtime session for the Raiders occurred last season at Bloomsburg, when the Raiders beat the Huskies 1-0 in mid-September. 
 
Shippensburg converted on three of its four shootout attempts in the 1-v-1 overtime session to secure the victory. Junior Rajchel Moore and senior Katelyn Grazan converted SU's first two attempts, while junior Kylie Huffman clinched it by converting the team's fourth attempt.
 
Redshirt-sophomore goalkeeper Ally Mooney not only registered eight saves in the victory to record her 12th shutout of the year, but she also denied all three of Bloomsburg's shootout attempts.
